Anne-Marie McGranaghan
HCR_-_Anne-Marie_McGranaghanAnne-Marie McGranaghan is an Associate Resettlement Officer and has been serving in this capacity in UNHCR’s Regional Office Washington since October 2003. She brings to this position 20 years of refugee resettlement experience.  In her current responsibilities, she is responsible for managing the operational aspects of resettlement of refugees in the Caribbean region. She has interviewed refugees widely in the Caribbean including several missions to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba to interview protected migrants.  In addition, she assists in the development and promotion of refugee resettlement policy with US government agencies and non-governmental organizations.   Prior to coming to Washington, Anne-Marie worked as an ICMC consultant in UNHCR’s Ghana office where she performed resettlement review functions for the region. Domestically, Anne-Marie spent several years as the National Programs Manager for one of the Resettlement Agencies where she oversaw the agency’s local resettlement sites and managed their national grants. Anne-Marie also lived in Nairobi, Kenya for over three years where she taught English at an American School and interviewed refugees for the USRAP at the Resettlement Support Center.  Anne-Marie has two Masters degrees from Bowling Green State University.
