Mahmoud A.
Mahmoud A. is from the Palestinian city of Salfit in the central West Bank. Mahmoud earned a Master’s of Science degree in Hydrology and Water Quality from Ben-Gurion University, and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Al Balqa's Applied University in Jordan. He is currently pursuing his PhD in environmental sciences at the University of Szeged, Hungary. Mahmoud is the co-founder of Leaves of Canaan, an herbal tea enterprise that empowers women through creating more job opportunities and economic independence for Arab women in Israel/Palestine. Mahmoud is passionate about renewable energy and bringing sustainable energy resources to underprivileged communities in the Middle East. He has helped to educate communities about environmental sustainability in Israel and Palestine through his volunteer work with Our Generation Speaks, Solutions Not Sides, and Friends of the Arava Institute.
