Mussab Ali
Board Member, Jersey City Board of Education

Mussab is currently the youngest elected official in Jersey City history, serving on his local school board addressing the needs of over 30,000 students, and overseeing a nearly $700 million budget. In this role, he has been prolific in uplifting the voices of marginalized communities that have led to a student-elected representative on the board of education, halal school lunches, dress code reform, and much more. Mussab graduated from Tsinghua University with a Master’s degree in Global Affairs as a Schwarzman Scholar Class of 2020 and Rutgers University, where he was named a Truman Scholar. He is currently attending Harvard Law school with plans to graduate in 2023. He has been featured on ABC7, Pix11, NJ.com, NJTV, News12, Politico, AJ+, and had a Reddit AMA that had over 500,000 views. Most recently, Mussab started his non-profit to train the next generation of activists, organizers, and grassroots leaders
