Membership Liaison Program

UNA-NCA Membership Liaisons serve as representatives of UNA-NCA in assisting in the growth of UNA-NCA’s membership base and assisting current and new volunteers in participating in UNA-NCA activities. UNA-NCA Membership Liaisons are committed volunteers who are responsible for attending UNA-NCA and other external events as a resource for attendees on the association, its advocacy initiatives and membership. Membership Liaisons will also provide support to UNA-NCA committees in order to keep well-informed of volunteer engagement issues. Membership Liaisons serve one-year terms with an option to renew for an additional year.  Membership Liaisons are required to live in the UNA-NCA membership area (Washington, D.C., Maryland or Northern Virginia).

Membership Liaison Duties

  •  Hold and maintain in good standing membership status with UNA-NCA
  •  Serve as a member of UNA-NCAs membership committee
  •  Attend at least 5 UNA-NCA and/or affiliate events per year (includes the  UNA-NCA Annual Membership Meeting and the UNA-NCA Human  Rights Awards Reception)
  •  Participate in membership committee in-person meetings and conference  calls
  •  Assist in monitoring and addressing prospective and current member  inquiries via email
  •  Recruit at least four new UNA-NCA Members per year
  •  Serve on one additional committee to support its volunteer needs (see  committee list)

Membership Liaison Qualifications

  •  UNA-NCA Membership
  •  Acceptance as a Membership Liaison by determination of the  Membership Committee
  •  Ability to attend Membership Liaison orientation session
  •  Ability to attend UNA-NCA events
  •  Support for UNA-NCA’s mission and a strong desire to make an impact!
