The Critical Challenges of Human Trafficking and Corruption
An estimated 24.9 million people are trapped in modern-day slavery. The overwhelming majority of the victims are entrapped and controlled by criminal networks operating together with corrupt public officials. Join the UNA-NCA International Law Committee and the Partnership for Transparency Fund’s Anti-Corruption Forum for a discussion on the ways in which corruption enables and perpetuates human trafficking and migrant smuggling, and what the international community can do to address these human rights abuses.
