Cara Honzak
Cara Honzak has more than 15 years of experience focused on cross-sectoral international development programming. In 2014, she joined Pathfinder International as the Senior Technical Advisor for Population, Health, & Environment (PHE), in a job share partnership with Dr. Cheryl Margoluis. Cara and Cheryl were originally known in partnership as co-authors on the first manual for the conservation sector on integrating family planning and reproductive health into conservation projects. After five years of job sharing at Pathfinder are now known as co-Directors of Pathfinder’s flagship project on PHE in the Lake Victoria Basin, and as thought leaders for Pathfinder’s efforts to utilize PHE to stimulate growth in programming at the nexus of gender, health, resilience, and rights.

Prior to joining Pathfinder, Cara worked with the World Wildlife Fund or WWF for eight years, where she was both the Manager and Sr. Technical Advisor for the Population, Health, and Environment Program and the Girls’ Education Program.

Previously, Cara consulted on: population, health, and environment issues for Conservation International, on HIV among migrant populations in Mozambique and South Africa for Population Services International, on conservation policy for a Brazilian municipal government in the Pantanal Wetlands, and on integrating reproductive health into NGO programs at John Snow Inc.

Cara has a Master of Public Affairs (MPAff) from the LBJ School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas and her BA from Columbia University. She speaks Czech, English, Portuguese, Spanish, and conversational Mandarin Chinese.
