Senior Advisor at the U.S. Department of State


Kristen A. Cordell is a Senior Advisor at the U.S.Department of State. In 2020 she was a visiting fellow with the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) Project on Prosperity and Development (PPD) through the prestigious Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) International Affairs Fellowship in national security. In 2016, she was detailed to the Presidents' Summit on Refugees at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) and has served on delegations to the Organization for Security Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and the Organization for Economic Cooperation on Development (OECD). Prior to USAID, Ms. Cordell supported United Nations (UN) programs in Liberia, and Lebanon. She has published research with RAND, the Center for New American Security, Foreign Policy, and the Guardian. She is a Life Member of the Council on Foreign Relations.

I commit to reinforcing the bridge between UN and US Government policy makers, specifically by building and growing a pipeline of qualified Americans working throughout the UN system.
