Shawn is Founder and CEO of Coalescion, a nonprofit dedicated to sustainable human survival, security, and “thrivability”. She is the thought architect behind “Capacity Capture”, a process for operationalizing security cooperation outcomes as a precursor to sustainment. She has collaborated with public and private partners in twenty countries, spanning four continents, to develop and implement national and global security frameworks. Her specializations include chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) nonproliferation, counter-WMD, and Strategic Trade Control. Shawn is a proven and trusted interlocutor adept at focusing a diversity of stakeholders with shared purpose, interests, or goals. She is currently serving as chair of a U.S. Department of State (DoS) sponsored, U.S.-India Semiconductor Conference Steering Committee and oversees a DoS sponsored, Women in Strategic Trade Mentorship Initiative for women in Southeast Asia. Shawn conversationally speaks Arabic and Spanish and has a master’s degree in security policy studies from George Washington University.

Vision Statement:

I hope to lend my skills of understanding, navigating, and coalescing diverse international stakeholder ecosystems in support of broader UNA-NCA goals, and to specifically support the Peace and Security Committee to promote effective conflict prevention and peacebuilding efforts and the Sustainable Development Committee in its education and awareness raising efforts.
