20-25 hours/week

Development work (80%)
  • Prepare written solicitations including emails and letters for current and prospective donors.
  • Manage donor lists including individuals, foundations, and institutional sponsors through the donor database.
  • Manage prospect pipeline tracker and delivery of sponsorship benefits.
  • Maintain internal team tracking system including timeline and meeting agendas.
  • Crease fundraising reports and other reports as needed.
  • Prepare leadership for gift solicitation via research and preparation of briefing memos, background documents, proposals, and other resources.
  • Participate in development of strategies for building relationships and soliciting funding from current and new donors.
  • Prepare acknowledgement letters and other correspondence.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records on all donor-related communications in database.
  • Manage, create and supervise fundraising content for social media accounts, website, newsletter, annual report, and other communications as needed.
  • Supervise and facilitate major grant and partnership applications.
  • Plan and execute donor acknowledgement and appreciation events.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of institutional outreach strategy.
Management (15%)
  • Hire, train and manage an intern to execute relevant development tasks and objectives.
  • Supervise the production of advocacy content and materials.
  • Oversee the creation of acknowledgement letters and other correspondence.
  •  Manage a designated Development budget, submitting expense reports and managing funds for these programs.
Administrative (5%)
  • Assist Vice President of Development with meetings including preparing the agenda, taking notes, and assisting with follow-up tasks.
  • Assist with Board of Directors coordination on necessary Conflict of Interest and Board Agreement documents.
  • Take action-oriented minutes at Board of Directors meetings.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Excellent writing, editing and communications skills.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Fluency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and other Office applications.
  • Ability to plan and manage under a tight deadline and ability to multitask and be flexible and effective in fast –paced and high-pressure situations.
  • Support and passion for UN-related issues with an interest in foreign policy objectives that align with UNA-NCA's mission.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working for a non-profit organization or other relevant work experience.
  • Working knowledge of eTapestry or other Blackbaud products.
  • Demonstrated experience in event/meeting coordination and logistics
