Gwen Snyder

Gwen Snyder is a Senior Advisor for Digital & Financial Inclusion and Gender Equality with the Economic Growth and Gender Equality team in USAID’s Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment Hub’s. As a USAID Contractor through Dexis Professional Services, Gwen manages activities in the technology, digital and financial inclusion, and gender lens investing (GLI) sectors. Her portfolio of activities includes the Women in the Digital Economy Fund (WiDEF) and USAID’s INVEST initiative, which mobilizes private capital for better, more sustainable development results, and programming that partners with the Better than Cash Alliance, CGAP FinEquity, and GLI and financial inclusion activities. Through the work in Gwen’s portfolio, USAID has partnered with Mastercard, Microsoft, UPS, ExxonMobil, QualComm, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Reliance Foundation, and others. Prior to her work with USAID, Gwen helped develop a digital toolkit for women entrepreneurs at the World Bank and spent almost a decade in Latin America implementing development projects focused on entrepreneurship, maternal/infant health and nutrition, and WASH. Before her international development work, Gwen was an Associate Director at UBS Securities, a Fulbright Scholar in Argentina and Brazil and an Assistant Trade Advisor for the Ohio Global Markets Division Latin America and Southeast Asia desks. She has a Masters degree in International Economics and Latin American Studies from the John Hopkins University (SAIS).
