Ms. Jessie Ainslie serves as the Government Liaison Associate at the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). In this role, she works to expand and strengthen UNHCR’s relationship with U.S. Executive Branch officials, think tanks, NGOs, and diplomats engaged on humanitarian and development policies impacting forcibly displaced people, as well as those with influence over U.S. foreign policy and national security policies. Prior to joining UNHCR, she held roles at the Center for Global Development and at the Brynne Kennedy for Congress 2020 campaign. Her previous internships include the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, the House Veteran Affairs Committee, Amnesty International, and the Los Angeles Democratic Party. She holds a dual BA in International Relations and Government with a Sequence in Human Rights from Claremont McKenna College and a MSc in International Development from the University of Edinburgh. She was born and raised on the Big Island of Hawaii.
