Kate Lovas

Kate Lovas is a Congressional Affairs Specialist in the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration (PRM). As a member of the Office of Public and Congressional Affairs (PCA), she helps foster PRM’s relationship with Congress and international organizations to advocate for refugees, migrants, and the world’s most vulnerable. Prior to her work at State, Kate was the Senior Public Policy Analyst in the Privacy and Data Security Group of Venable LLP where she helped prepare clients to testify before congressional committees and tracked developments related to privacy and social media regulation. While a student at Penn State University, Kate pursued many internships, including with the State Department's Global Engagement Center, the National Museum of American Diplomacy, as well as congressional offices in both the Senate and the House.
