Katryna Mahoney is a 2020 Donald M. Payne International Development Fellow and newly onboarded Humanitarian Assistance Foreign Service Officer at the US Agency for International Development (USAID). Before USAID, Katryna worked with various NGOs and multilateral institutions in Geneva and Washington on themes of migration, displacement, digital development, and humanitarian protection. She also lived in Morocco as a Fulbright researcher where she conducted ethnographic research on the social inclusion of West African migrants in Morocco. Katryna received her MA in Global Human Development from Georgetown University, her MSc in Migration Studies from Oxford University, and her BA in Sociology and Anthropology from Spelman College.
