Tyler Atkins
Tyler Atkins (He/They) is a graduate of Mary Baldwin University where they studied visual communication and theatre. After graduation Tyler joined the AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC) FEMA Corps program where they spent 10 months assisting FEMA in the response and recovery efforts following hurricanes Irma, Maria and Harvey in 2017-2018. Their service awarded them the Presidential Volunteer Service Award, and Congressional Award. Following their AmeriCorps service Tyler joined FEMA as a Public Assistance Reservist working in Puerto Rico, Texas, and South Dakota. Currently Tyler serves as a Training Specialist within the Resilience Training and Exercise Branch, a qualified FEMA instructor, Director of Events for FEMA’s LGBTQIA+ PRIDE employee resource group, and public servant.
