Chelsea Taylor

Chelsea O. Taylor serves as a Program Assistant for Global Classroom-DC (GCDC) at the United Nations Associations of National Capital Areas. Originally from Bronx, New York where her involvement in community organizing began. She earned her BA in Political Science focused in International Affairs from Stony Brook University.

Her advocacy work and commitment to advancing global development, particularly in West Africa where she is from (Ghana), have shaped how she speaks, represents, and learns about the introspective dynamics within the continent. Her previous work with non-profits, political campaigns, and community organizing, along with her love for her country, has led her to pursue a Master's degree in International Development at American University, concentrating on the Sustainability of Rights in West Africa.

She is currently investigating the neglect of human rights, governance, and gender rights, particularly within informal development, following her study abroad in Nairobi, Kenya. Chelsea's passion is rooted in her pride for her people, her country, and her continent, and she aims to challenge the active determinants of their rights. Her aspirations are to work in Ghana as an agent of change, combating global barriers to access to basic livelihoods and opportunities.
