Support a Delegate: Donate to GCDC

How can I support?

Like many programs, GCDC has not been immune to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic but we are committed to providing accessible and affordable programming, specifically for students at Title 1 and public schools.

Your support WILL make a difference! It's just $25 per student to participate in our annual Spring Model UN Conference.

For more information or to make a donation, see below or contact gcdc@unanca.org

You can support the program by:

What makes Global Classrooms DC (GCDC) unique?

GCDC is part of a worldwide Global Classrooms initiative to bring Model United Nations (UN) into underserved schools. During the 2018 - 2019 school year, we reached over 1,100 DC-area middle and high school students.

Since 2003, GCDC has been a successful collaborative program of U.S. Department of State, the Pan American Health Organization, and the United Nations Association of the National Capital Area (UNA-NCA). GCDC also partners with other organizations, including the U.S. Institute of Peace and local universities.

You can learn more in our 2019-2020 Annual Report.

How do students benefit from the program?

Tangible benefits for participating students include writing skills, public speaking, critical thinking, cross-cultural understanding, conflict resolution, negotiation, and teamwork, all skills that will serve students at school, in their families and communities, and on the job in any future workplace.

To continue offering FREE and reduced cost program services to GCDC's public school students, help support a local student or a group to participate in Global Classrooms DC this year.

Become a part of a proven, successful program that opens the world to local, traditionally underserved students, and that helps prepare the next generation to better navigate and confront the challenges of an increasingly complex and interdependent world.

How much should I donate?

We are grateful for any amount that you choose to donate, and, being a program based in DC, your donation will have a direct impact. We have outlined recommended amounts below to show you how far your contribution will go.
