With a Master of Science in Commerce and a Bachelor of Arts in Global Development Studies from the University of Virginia, Nadjad seeks to bridge the world of business & sustainable development practices. In general, she has always had a passion for sustainability as she worked for non-governmental organizations with a focus on global humanitarian aid. One of which was the International Rescue Committee from 2016 to 2018, which helps facilitate the settlement of refugees in the United States. Later in 2018, she interned for the International Commission of Jurists (ICJ) in Geneva, Switzerland, to support the development of the first Treaty on Business & Human Rights. Her experience at the ICJ inspired her to continue developing sustainable business models leading to her own social venture, Adalci Coffee & Co. Adalci ("Ah Dah L Chee") is designed to import and sell the coffee of Togolese farmers in the U.S. while increasing their income. Outside of corporate social responsibility, she holds a deep appreciation for holistic approaches to development as she spent the summers of 2017 & 2018 exploring the health barriers of Togolese newborns by interviewing mothers and neonatal units' personnel on their perceived challenges.
